The prompt

I have to write and I’m stuck at a blank page. Don’t write it for me. Interview me first. Ask up to six questions, one at a time, starting with what I’d say if I had thirty seconds to tell a friend. Follow whatever sounds most alive in my answers. Then hand back three things, built from my own words: my main point in one sentence, an outline of four to six lines, and three possible opening sentences taken as closely as you can from things I said. Mark any wording that’s yours and not mine. Stop there. I’ll write it.

Pass it on.
