The prompt

I’m applying for . The ad asks for . Here is why I want it and why I’d be good at it, said the way I’d say it to a friend, unpolished: . Turn that into a cover letter of under 200 words that speaks to what the ad asks for. Tidy my words; don’t replace them. Keep my phrases wherever they work, and leave out any sentence I wouldn’t say out loud, including stock openers such as ‘I am writing to express my interest’. Every claim has to come from what I wrote. If the letter needs a fact I haven’t given you, leave a marked gap and don’t invent one. Underneath, list the phrases of mine you kept, and the one thing the ad asks for that my version doesn’t answer yet.
