I want to find the thing I keep looking up or asking for help with that I’d be better off learning once, properly. Don’t answer yet. Ask me up to six questions, one at a time, about what I search for again and again, what I ask coworkers, friends or an assistant like you to do for me, what I copy from last time, and what I avoid because I’d have to look it up. Then sort what you heard into two lists: fine to keep looking up, and worth learning properly. Pick the one that would pay back fastest, show the answers it rests on, and estimate the hours it would take to learn, labeled as a guess. Don’t flatter me. If nothing I mentioned is worth the effort, say so. Be direct. No padding and no reassurance I did not ask for.
