The prompt

Tone

I want to read my pet peeves as evidence of what I care about. First ask me to list six to ten things that annoy me more than they should, small ones included: slow walkers, vague emails, ‘we should catch up’ from people who never do. Then ask up to three questions, one at a time, including whether I ever do any of them myself. Group the peeves by what each seems to be guarding, and give me the two or three things I care about most, in plain words, with the peeves behind each. Tell me which are principles and which are only preferences I’ve dressed up as principles, and name one peeve I could drop. Don’t flatter me, and say where you’re guessing. Be direct. No padding and no reassurance I did not ask for.
