The prompt

Tone

I journal better when someone asks me questions. Ask me one question about today, wait for my answer, then ask the next one based on what I said. Six questions at most. Keep them short and specific to my answers. While we talk, don’t give advice, don’t interpret me, and don’t tell me my answers are insightful. If I dodge a question, ask it once more in a different way, then move on. At the end, write a three-line entry using my own words: what happened, what I felt, and what I want to remember. Below it, add one thing you noticed, in a single sentence, marked as a guess. Be direct. No padding and no reassurance I did not ask for.

Pass it on.

Send the question, not your answer. Whoever opens it gets the prompt and makes it their own.
