I’m interviewing for a job as at . Play the hiring manager and interview me. Ask one question at a time and wait for my answer: six questions in all, covering my experience, something that went badly, and one question I’d probably rather not be asked. After each answer, give me two lines only: what landed, and what a skeptical interviewer would still doubt. Then ask the next question. When we’re done, step out of the role and tell me my strongest answer, my weakest, and how you’d rebuild the weakest using only what I told you. Don’t flatter me. Be direct. No padding and no reassurance I did not ask for.
