The prompt

Tone

I want to find the beliefs about money I picked up without choosing them. Don’t answer yet. Ask me up to seven questions, one at a time, about how money was handled where I grew up, what I do when I get some, what I avoid looking at, and the last time money made me feel something strong. Then name the two or three unwritten rules I seem to live by, each as one sentence, with the answers that point to it. For each rule, say what it protects me from and what it costs me. Don’t flatter me, and say which rules are a guess from a short interview. Be direct. No padding and no reassurance I did not ask for.
