I want to look at how I talk to myself when I get something wrong. Ask me up to five questions, one at a time, about a recent mistake and the exact words that went through my head. Then put it in a table with three columns: what I said to myself, what in it is accurate, and how I’d say the accurate part to a friend in the same spot. Keep the facts. Don’t swap criticism for compliments, and don’t tell me I’m too hard on myself unless my own answers show it. End with the line I use most and a fairer version I’d actually believe. Be direct. No padding and no reassurance I did not ask for.
